Jody and Cynthia Helton own
Julie’s Fresh Kitchen at 6256
McCart Avenue in the southwest Fort Worth. The
entire Helton Family – Jody, Cynthia and their three children Colin,
John and Julie all help at the restaurant.
The Helton's have been serving fresh cooked food to hungry folks for the
past seven years and the family is looking forward to making new friends
and continuing the tradition of providing “Good Food & Good
Service, the Old-Fashion Way.”
The family owned restaurant is named after the Helton’s 10 year old
daughter, Julie Rae Thao, who joined their family in 1995. Julie may
look Vietnamese, but she is real Texan and now comes complete with
accent. Many customers ask for Julie when they come into the restaurant.
She loves visiting at the tables and talking with the customers.
Evidently, she has quite the imagination and can spin a tale. You’ll
find the Helton’s, either Jody or Cynthia at the restaurant every day.
They are definitely what you call “hands-on owners.” Cynthia says
Jody is a real “people person.” He loves meeting new people and
getting to know the customers. He takes the time to visit them at the
dinner table and makes a point to call them by name when they come in
again.
Whether coming for breakfast, lunch
or dinner, you won’t be disappointed. Breakfast is served 6:30
a.m. till noon Monday through Saturday. It’s served fresh and hot and
exactly the way you want it, guaranteed. Do you like hash browns cubed
or shredded.
The lunch and dinner menu
is served 10:30 a.m. until close Monday through Saturday. Customers come
back again and again for Julie’s specialty – Chicken Fried Steak and
all the fixin’s. Of course, it’s hand tenderized, battered and fried
up to order along with cream gravy made from scratch and homemade mashed
potatoes without the peels. It’ll remind you of Grandma’s house on
Sundays.
Whatever you do (take home a doggie bag if you
must), but leave room for their delicious homemade pies, cakes, fruit
cobbler and cheesecakes,
For catering information
contact Jody or Cynthia. They take their chicken, mashed potatoes, green
beans and biscuits all over
Tarrant
County. Cynthia’s Chicken Salad is a real crowd pleaser, too. Separate
meeting rooms are available for business lunches or dinners. Call ahead for reservations. |
